Whiskey

Under the starry sky
Beneath the silver moon
Bound together, their spirits soaring high
Like held conjointly in an invisible cocoon

Their fingers unwind like a pitched trap
Unperturbed by rest, in other each lost
Afraid to blink, to let out of their grasp
To abide, accept, retain, to withstand at any cost

From the truth in their eyes to this kiss on their lips
The flames of love that burns every sign of misery
Through the burdened and hardship that emotions rip
Incessant promise, from the lady to her whiskey
